Acrylic acid - joint venture

In 2001 Evonik entered into a fifty-fifty joint venture with Rohm and Haas Company for the production of crude acrylic acid. Today the joint venture ensures Evonik a secure global acrylic acid supply through a combined capacity of 430,000 metric tons; 165,000 tons in Deer Park, Texas, USA and 265,000 tons in Marl. 

In addition to the joint venture, Evonik owns and operates the glacial acrylic acid plants in Marl. The Marl acrylic acid production facilities and quality management systems are all certified under DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, DIN EN ISO 14001:2005 as well as the environmental EMAS and worker safety standard BS:OHSAS 18001.2007.

Evonik offers glacial acrylic acid packaged and in bulk trucks and railcars.
